Am I stupid or what?

for last 2 week there been glorious weather and yet haven't to climb!! due to no mats and no partner which is a bit of bugger.

I've hardly been out due to either going to the gym too much (yes, that's a crap excuse too) or coz of folk visiting who are non climbers. And, apparantly it's going to rain later this week - typical innit?

Well, I have been out this week, but I'm real down coz I haven't been out the past two days. Because, wait for it, I just can't be arsed, where's my psych gone?! argh!

I get this sometimes - just don't fancy it - I find that when I do something else for a while and have a break, I come back to it with renewed enthusiasm....but weaker fingers  :cry:

Was out yesterday. went to Caley then on to Amlscliff. Caley is brill but Almcliff is a bit thugy for me, although we were shown a nice slabby V2 just before we left, VERY polished!

Still didn't manage Mr Smooth though and couldn't get the last (?) move of Low Pebble Wall   . They will still be there next time :D

on the other side I have been out loads, had a great time, been really unlucky, now am confined to the gym due to busted tendon.

No mat is a very weak excuse, you've missed out on some really good days climbing.

To be honest I enjoy climbing by myself  and feel that sometimes I climb better on my own, I can focus in to problems alot more and just get on with it.

Saying that a spotter does come in helpful from time to time.

I've been bouldering outdoors everyday for the last 12 days, only a couple of those have been with anyone because the 'scene' round here is pretty shit.  Come to think of it, I am the scene.  Although it's a bit damp today I'll just train indoors.

I've never owned a mat, and have no plans to buy one.

Ironically enough I'm also studying exercise addiction at uni at the moment!!!!

You're right Bubba, there's at least 3 other boulderers in Bath, full credit to all of them! :wink:

Actually, since the article about Bathford has been up I've met quite a few new people there.  I was demonstrating the hippy cave lip traverse to some of them, and luckily for me, they put their mat underneath me which I then landed on shoulders first!

Quentin (ageing Rock star) was of the same opinion until he repeatedly lobbed onto mine at the weekend, and now he thinks they are brill.

Plus, if you don't take a mat with you - what do you use to skin up on?

If you own the mat you can also lie on it while watching others break thier anckles!
