this months climb mag

finally its happened.dave mcallrounder has repeated someof the great si's problems.7c+ and 8a down to 7a+ and 7b respectively and another 7b down to 6a.what more could one say.

well loads actually.

espicially about the high tor article.steve bancroft quotes in 1975 staying up all tuesday night playing bridge and then going climbing the next day with a hangover.strange that as when i went with him to the poly disco in leeds in 76 he fell off his chair half way down his second pint.how do you get a hangover on one and half pints.

my recomendation is climb all day on peak limstone on a hot summers day, don't drink any water all day, then quickly have a pint and half of black lurcher from the 3 slags heads. That should do the trick.

well done to dave mc.

Well...

7c+ 7c 7b+ 7b 7a+
8a 7c+ 7c 7b+ 7b
7a 6c+ 6c 6b+ 6b
thus
8c 8b+ 8b 8a+ 8a

By my maths he still makes the "People who have climbed 8a in the UK"...

hah you should see me drunk!

Gaz= gaz parry, doing the crucifixion traverse at brideys, apparently stood on a fence in one of the frames in the beta cheater. he's not, just like those tourists aren't holding up the leaning tower of pisa

Strangely quiet on www.scottishclimbs.mac - thought there would have been some comment (unless I just didn't see it of course).
Which probs did Kevin McCloud do?

If I remember correctly, having briefly flicked through said mag tother day,  Gaz Parry is mentioned in a light hearted fashion in the letters page and the boulder problem beta article is on the Caseg Fraith Arete, a V3 in the Ogwen Valley.

Simple really.

if you read the bouldering news in the scotish report by divina mccoll he's repeated some of si's problems and found them a touch over graded.

i also made reference to billy bancrofts alcohol tolerence mentioned in the high tor article.

andy e the started on about how a letter refers too the previous issue where paz garry appears to have his foot on the fence when doing crufixtion at bridestones.he also goes on about the beta article on a v3.
you know one those famous climbs and how to make them articles.

have you got it yet.

the only controversy was some mentalist scottish geezer who thought he was king of the climbing world.

maybe this will set a precedent for other dodgy characters being outed?

That's not true - since I started the SOC rock tossing regime, the grade that I tell people I climb at has increased markedly.......

how big a rock are you tossing?  apparently when you get up to 2 tons you should be able to climb 7c...
