do I really have to just slap up from the rail, or is there some more cunning method? just felt a bit high and committing on me own with one 4 year old pad....

if you're strong you could lock it, but its more a confidence thing rather than actually a hard move. I've fallen off that move and missed the mats, you'll probably be OK.

He's never been the same since though ;-).  It's a good thing about slopey landings that they don't twat you as hard, possibly by a factor of cos(theta).

I guess it depends how far and fast you throw yourself towards the next hold

Depends how far you swing out if you don't hold it (on one of the moves).  I suggest that if you don't end up in the middle of the A53 at least once you haven't got the full tick.

It's best just to give it a bit of umph, the hold is good. You can even hold the slopey bit beneath the hold and then go again. An alternative is to put your right heel on the sausage, this gives you a bit more height but makes it feel a bit more like you'll land on your back. Take your pick...

I go with a right toe on and a big slap. If the conditions are poor it often means holding the slope then an udge into the good bit - which is massive and can't be seen from below.

yeah ramair is mega.
