The Caley one by the path (V5).

Do u have to jump and latch the ledge before the crux rockover, or is it acceptable  to do it statically?

Cheers peeps

I have seen short people who can't reach the ledge do a move into it from the smaller crimps down and left (although I am not very short I've done it this way, which is good cos it adds a couple more moves), most people reach the ledge (by whatever means) then get the pinch and rock over. From what I've seen.

Being in yorkshire, as the locals will tell you, any slapping or dynamic climbing is cheating.

i do a pop from poor low holds (match-stick edge crimp and crozzly shite) to gain the ledge just to add "value" (and quieten the voices in my head that tell me I'm unfairly lanking stuff!).  Doesn't make much difference to the overall difficultly though - just to my level of satisfaction.

Short person's start is from the two crap holds as described by moose. Anyone taller than about 5' 10" can probably reach up the good rail due to the sloping landing, but if you do that, you just lose yourself a nice starting move.

:D

Cheers peeps, I was just checking  i was doing it right cause in the RF it talks about slapping for the rail/ledge and I thought it was a bit soft touch for V5 (i'm 5ft 8), nice prob though.
