Don’t go from simonside it’s miles, although it’s not the shortest walk in the world anyway.
Walk up from Hepple. There is a map on line.

The crab is called lower tosson.

The walks a killer and suggest you go with a few of you or you might die from exhaustion carrying two big pads up on your own. And you will need two minimum.

Yeah we just used the map on that guide. The walk is about 45-50 minutes I'd say, first part is pretty chilled but the last part is a steep slog through heather. We had two pads but I think you'd be ok with one biggie and small bum start pad.

The walk-in is nowhere near as bad as people make out. There is also a very tempting much shorter direct approach... but I guess there is access issues?!?!

We had a big and a small pad (one of which didn’t spend much time on the floor, just whistling around in the wind).

My advice, don’t go up if it feels or looks either remotely cold or windy.... it’s extremely exposed and gets really cold.
