one of my medical collegues reckoned that having a tatoo above the neck is diagnostic of having a mental illness.

Isn't this a prison related thang too?

ill have to check it out, you see them fairly often so i guess it has something do with either being in the Navy, being a biker or being in jail as 30 years ago they were the only people with tattoos.

I think the cheek tear bizniz is all about tekkin t' piss in borstal about showing no remorse for one's crimes and thus failing to shed real tears...

and the swallow- fatboy told me they are called 'prison gloves'. I've allus assumed the swallow was symbolic of freedom in spite of being on lockdahn....

dunno about the rest, but heard that swallows on the neck was something to do with having killed someone...

that said, i wouldn't make a habit of upsetting someone who had any of the tattoos mentioned above (tears / swallows / cobwebs...)

so who here has actually got a tat then? please - if you've got your chap done, I'll take your word for it - i for one don't want to see photgraphic proof

A fat mess on the plane last wk had a tat of a burger on her arm with the words "I don't like Burger King" above it and "I don't like anything" below it. Classy, that's without going into the Springsteen lyrics on the back of her neck

I've seen worse than that though sadly not in person...

I've got some nice tats and some crap tats.

This was done ten years ago, free hand by Lal Hardy, who's a bit of a beast!

The tear drop is a bit of an American thing as far as I know (whilst I don't spend all day every day in prison I've spent more time in there than most and I have never seen them) and can relate to either friends who have been killed, that they themselves have killed someone or that they have spent time inside.

People who spent time in Borstal when they were younger sometimes have a spot on their cheek or on their hand between the thumb and forefinger, this I have seen lots.

I've met ACAB in the past but thought the acronym was his either a nickname or his full name.

The most famous dickhead in the world

That's actually really sad. I started reading the article thinking "what a cunt" and ended up feeling sorry for him.

I really hope that one's a joke. Nice body though...

Body could be that of a 15 year old from what you can see. Sick tattoo aside, that's a pretty grim comment.

Really? You think so? The lass said the same thing when I showed her the tattoo. Ho hum.

I think there are laws against people getting tattoos under 18? Just a thought...

18/17 whatever - I take the point it was a poor call. Moving on...
