bluehumps
April 12, 2015, 02:05:23 am
the lime season is here whether its been called or not i don't care and i've been doing links at the tor (blueband into powerband wooo look at me, look at me!) to really get things started! but one link i was struggling with was blueband into R&H (hard way), couldn't work out how to get up to the 2 crimps without basically climbing down to the start of powerband and then back up to the slots. Any one got any tips?

To me this one doesn't have much logic once you start adding the rules of the respective problems. If you eliminate the final powerband slot as per blueband then you're missing out a hold that you start R&H hard way, which will be even harder as a result. Or you could instead give yourself the big deep square pocket above the sharp crimp/pinch, but then this is out on blueband (I think) and on R&H hard way.....so all depends what rules you're imposing on yourself here. I think years back I did (or nearly) blueband no rules into R&H standard way, allowing everything, it was a good and logical linkup.

Done the non eliminate way already and agree it is good.  Was going via the rules of no heel toe and no gastrin. Doing blueband nonstrict

What's a Garston?

What about RH to glued sloper pinch on PB/BB, cross under to jug square pocket, then RH crimp underneather it, then cross again into good PH starting slot, then you're away?

What's a Garston?

Its an area of Liverpool and a crag in Staffordshire. Surely they're not 'in' on Blueband?

Love this thread :) it's like a group of literary experts arguing over the use of a semi-colon...

Tried the cross under with left and and you just end up spinning off since you end up facing outwards from the wall. I may have to sack up and accept that it's just go straight up with my left hand to the top crimp and then match. In which case.  Anyone done this move and remember where there feet went to do it?

I presumed the square pocket was out on this. Went rh to fat pinch, lh to undercut, rh to positive pinch and again to pocket, lh in to positive pinch (as an edge), rf out right, press rh up to bottom crimp, lh over to top one... So you're coming at it with lh further left than normal. Don't know what Dave's original sequence is?

From memory-

RH - wide pinch
LH - underneath to crimp/pinch
RH - pocket
LH - flat crimp above diagonal crimp used on powerhumps.
RH - block crimp/pinch thing
LH - jug

I have some pictures that Cofe took but I don't know how to upload them.

Oh wait, the first part of my sequence was wrong - I was doing the strict version when I did this, so same as Dave in terms of going from fat pinch through to edge, eliminating the undercut. The later part was as I said though, got to be easier than Dave's way!
