Thanks guys. Looks like I might have to think about trying 5.10 land again  :(

Scarpa stix would also be worth a look - I have narrow ish feet and recently got a pair and think they are excellent, including the heel.

I don't class dragons as being particularly narrow but they are laced so that helps I guess and the heel is definitely narrow.

The Testarossa was too narrow for me and has a soft heel as mentioned, so definitely an option. The Tenaya brand are stupidly narrow but not sure about heel softness.

The stix are basically designed for people with blocks for feet so wouldn't class those as narrow either but the heel is quite soft (and baggy).

The pythons are quite narrow (though being leather I guess they would bag out eventually) and have a soft heel also. Can't think of others right now...

Hmm Testarossa sound possible. Used to love them but had to get them stupidly tight to avoid the heels bagging so I switched to wms Katana with the narrower heel.
Thanks

Yes, the heels were baggy for me to on them.

Dragon heel is a much better fit for me.

Interesting. I have fairly wide feet and I really like the fit of Testarossas

I think the Testarossas might be reasonably wide in the forefoot but narrow at the end so if you have short toes maybe you'd be OK with wide feet? I have wide feet and long toes so didn't get on with them. Unfortunate as I thought they were a great shoe apart from their wide, baggy heel.

Me too actually, but I know la Sportiva says it's for narrow feet, and I know of girls with narrow feet who also climb in them

I've just discovered that Sportiva's website allows you to filter by foot-width. Apparently the Testarossa are for wide feet.
Narrow foot options are Katana. Miura and Futura only :-(

Miura Velcros are worth a look.

Only issue I've heard with velcros is that at least 3 separate friends have trashed the heels on them very, very quickly. They appear to be very crumbley so your get flaps of rubber pulled away on the sides, generally making heels a little more interesting in terms of likelihood of them popping off.

I thought the Muira VS fitted pretty wide. The lace version took me ages to break in and felt a little narrower but I barely had to break in the VS.

Thought of another model that probably slipped under the radar with them being new but the five ten hiangles have a soft heel. The men's version isn't overly narrow but there is a woman's version that presumably will be narrower and lower volume. The shop never went up to my my size in the women's so couldn't try.
