Broken desktop PC diagnosis help please..
January 16, 2015, 11:43:47 am
Hey up,
MrsTT's desktop (Dell, c.3yo) has packed up in a fit of bleeping. On switch on it bleeps twice - repeatedly. Nothing comes up on the screen - CPU fans spin up OK, HDD works fine (tested in an external drive enclosure)... My money is on either motherboard graphics - or some motherboard issue... IIRC normally for memory/cpu errors it'll fire up enough to give some message on screen...
Any other thoughts out there?
Going to dig out an old external graphics card to try next...

You can usually find beep-code analysis for your PC/mobo...

2 is usually no RAM - so yours has either died, become dislodged or just given up.

Last time this happened to me, I googled the bleep code for my PC. It told me what was wrong and I fixed it (it was a faulty memory card)

Thanks Gents. That prompted me to do the old 'pull out the memory and put it back in again' routine and badabing.. if works.

F*cking computers....

although you can negate some of the damage by pulling out before the vinegar stroke.  :lets_do_it_wild:

It was MrsTT's computer.... I have the luxury of my own one for my own purposes.... :)
