FS: 2012 Orange 224 £1300
October 05, 2014, 12:22:25 pm
With the arrival of our little one it's become aparant that I only have time for one hobby  :'(
Just testing the water at the moment so not in any rush to sell so no silly offers. I'm based in Blacko (near Earl's crag), but I climb in Leeds and Sheffield during the week so could deliver.
The pictures are from when I bought the bike, but it's in great condition (no major crashes). I've added some Superstar pedals (Black), a carbon fibre guard on the bottom bracket and it's now wearing Maxxis dual ply Minion DHF super tacky / High Roller 60a 2.5 x 26 dh tyre tyres. I'll include the other tyres too.
You are looking at a beautifully prepared and maintained 224 EVO, the spec is at true world cup level, a real performer. The bike comes in at around 36 pounds too so she's a real lightweight. The frame is a 15" which is classed as the small/medium. Orange only made these in two sizes so this size fits a big range of people. The frame itself with a fox DHX5 and 350lbspring is still looking extremely fresh with no significant damage whatsoever. The slightest of marks here and there but she really does look good especially with the new applied decals. Up front is a Rockshox Boxxer Worldcup Keronite 2013. The lowers are in great shape with barely a mark on them, the stanchions are immaculate and unmarked. In my opinion the best forks on the market right now, infinitely adjustable and air sprung so very light! The bike is full of spec highlights including Hope brakes, Mavic rims on Hope hubs, X9 shifter and mech, Ibeam saddle and post, Renthal bars, brand new Michelin tyres, well the list goes on.

If I wasn't buying a house I'd have this off you.

On a separate note mate, I'd seriously suggest that you don't sell this bike unless you need the money. The first kid over the first few months gives you the impression that life as you know it is over (and it is to an extent!) but you soon find ways to fit things in. I have two kids, two bikes, a boat and still climb at least three times a fortnight.  Life can still be very good :2thumbsup:

If it's a space thing you store it in my garage...

Hehe.....If I need a place to store it I'll give you a shout  ;)

I'm also having to stop as I keep breaking myself (broken ribs etc), which is not good for work  :'(

Don't sell it. Unless money tight. U could always wheel it out in a year or two when family more settled.  Very hard to rebuy at that stage.  Beautiful bike. Cheap.  Will see on pink bike

Agree, don't sell unless you have to. Having a MTB means you can get out and have a blast of fresh air and adrenalin in just about any weather, and in the smallest time windows.

As for breaking yourself, get the skill levels up to the bravery levels! Or get some body armour.

Don't sell it. Daddy Cofe and I are off to Snowden and Rev this weekend,  :bounce: leaving our respective hoards behind for a weekend away (still taking two big kids with us  ::)). You'll probably soon discover that biking is in some ways more compatible with little-uns than climbing. What you actually need is to buy a nice lightweight hard tail to "fit the kids seat on"  :2thumbsup:

Collective UKB, don't sell unless cash strapped. U will never afford such again. Moth ball it, only for 18 months or so... Let me know when u are back in the game.. I'm no DH god, but u are very welcome to come along to any uplifts / days out in the woods...
