Extending wifi swizzle
October 04, 2014, 04:37:10 pm
Hey up - getting shite wireless reception downstairs now - which I don't mind but chrome casting stuff is a bit crap.

We've got a through the mains network thingy to run the you view box (see pic) - and I was wondering if I could feed the Ethernet from this into another router - or wifi thingy as well as the you view box. Instead of getting a plug into the mains wifi repeater etc.. (That might end up being easiest/cheaper)

sack the cleaner and use the money you save to by an Apple iRradiate home irradiation system to fill your living space with high energy waves and/or particles (depending on how you observe them)

I can sell you some wave-proof headgear

I'd recomend a fresh skim of plaster and a repaint with some new sockets and also fill that mouse door in the skirting board.
That will be £15 + VAT

It is possibly one of the worst plastering jobs I've seen... We keep the mouse hole open to give some sport for the cat...

Though I'll take you up on the re-skin, paint and hole filling for £15 - sounds like a reasonable deal ;)

One of these should do the trick, and mean you don't have to mess around with a separate wifi hotspot

It's cheaper because it is 200mbps instead of 300mbps (albeit theoretically) but unless you are wanting to run a LAN at home or your wiring is really really shit (like your plastering ;-) ) then you are unlikely to notice the difference.

Indeedy! As our fibre maxes out at 30mb - it'll make dick all difference. Jims still not said when he's coming to skim the walls ;)
