If you're well enough to type, you're well enough.

Was this free admission and all funded through sponsorship ?

Presume the Scarpa team places were part of a sponsorship package, not sure what that's got to do with anything though? Just wanted to see if it was only me or if it's others too...

How are the other competitors feeling? I'm currently lying in bed feeling like the world is ending...

Not heard anything from our guys, Rory was the only one who made it to the Semi's, so the only one to take a drink on Sunday. Of the five or six who climbed on Sat. no-one is ill.

To the best of my knowledge, yes.

Most of the sponsors were selling from booths on site.

I don't think that covered much though...

I want to see some minister related heckling if this happens again. The general attitude of mutual encouragement surrounding the event is in incredibly poor taste.

Apparently my statement here was a lie.

I apologise.

Just heard from Mark U so far and he's fair crook, waiting to hear from Kieron and Rory.

But it looks like the reason I hadn't heard anything, was because they were too ill to talk or come in to the Bunker...

Damn.

Add Ellis to the list. Can't imagine anyone will want to do it next year.

I'm really surprised.

We canoe there a lot, as do hundreds of others.

Never had a problem.

The guys from AS water sports are in there daily (the rescue boat crews at the comp).

I've been swimming in that river and the canal since I was a kid.

Hope you all feel better soon.

I've just hit the throwing up stage after temperature , headache and stomach cramps. Did you also get conjunctivitis like symptoms? Bit worried that mine all match the list on NHS info thing for Weil's...

All this fallout will add so much to the legend of the comp. This event will be the Woodstock of British climbing - who was there? Who went down? Who didn't? The illness these people are suffering will in years to come be boasting points. My advice to them, from a publicity point of view, is make it sound bad. It's a PR masterpiece.

Is there any truth in the rumour the water was deliberately spiked?

Alex if you think you've got Weils on current HSE advice you should go to your doctor who will schedule the appropriate tests http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/indg84.pdf

I'm no doctor Barrows, but I'd get yourself to a doctor as soon as you can leave the house without shitting yourself.

Did it rain in the run up to the event? I'd be interested to know what the local water company has in the area (did anyone speak to them in the run up?) or whether it's just stagnant water or similar.

Strangely Alex your symptoms also match pregnancy, flu, and food poisoning off the top of my head. The only thing I do know is it's not lupus

Kieron says he's fine and still not heard back from Rory.

It's open to the river.

Yes, it rained in the days before.

Well you can't get pregnant from sodomy so you can rule that out.

Did you not drink a load cola after wards. That'd toast a few bugs.

Spoken to a couple of others who've had similar, but seems like most of us are now coming out the other side  so safe from Weil's. It must be mass pregnancy from the pre comp orgy.
