I'm glad it's easier for me to walk 10 min down to the coast to catch fuck all rather than pay to go to a pond and worry about if I've got a lucky peg.

 Quality Chris. Made me megalolz!

I'll be packing a beachcaster and 9oz lead in the event that ol'jammy sod Fatneck draws a blinder 8 swims down.

July dates fine with me.

The first july date is better for me govern that I have a horse in sheffield until the 7th July. Though I'll be living out of my car for the summer so can still do the following weekend if that's better for others.

Bring him along. Most fisheries are pretty mellow on pets.

The first july date is better for me given that I have a house in sheffield until the 7th July. Though I'll be living out of my car for the summer so can still do the following weekend if that's better for others.

Ammended. I don't have a horse....

If you turned up on horseback with all your gear James, you'd be making a brilliant introduction! Big respect to the horse commuting scene.

some pegs are significantly better than others

You can tell the best peg easily - it's the one Scouse gets.

I think fishing from the back of a high horse would be extending the luck based pasttimes to a new level of showponying.

It might take the focus off my ancient float & feeder rod. But I can ride so if I happen to come accross one going spare I'll try to make that scenario happen.

Hopefully my parents havent got rid of my kit as it's been untouched for about 5 years. It'll be nice to be on the bank again!

The extra elevation would be ideal for stalking, though I'm not sure it would be too helpful in a murky (I'm guessing) commerical water....

I'm on for an afternoon of rig making and hopefully planning a practice session for one day on the weekend. I'm not au fait with Scouse's abilities but either it's a big hustle from his Sheffield-based cohorts or we're in trouble!

Fatneck is very much in form at the moment. It'll be a big ask to overtake him I reckon! Let the hustling commence! Where's Andy F when you need him ; )

I'm sure Loxley would accommodate a small match providing they have enough notice. I'll give them a ring and enquire, but we need to have a date set in stone before I do that.

I've not fished a match since I was a nipper, I might have to get me sen a new carp friendly keep net, because all I'm going to be catching are monster carp!   :P  :fishing:

Johnny Brown is something of a tench master if I remember rightly? Beware the specialist specimen hunter! No bivi dwelling all night either Atkinson pre-baiting!!

I have caught two tench in my life. I wouldn't worry too much.

It's all smoke and mirrors! I've never entered a competition. I like catching tench but regularly blank. I reckon I'll be on method feeder,  having neither a pole nor the inclination to plumb the depth accurately. I'm lazy.

Method feeder can indeed be a strong method. Debating picking up one of the Garbolino method rods soon since they're only about 20 fuck alls and pretty decent by all accounts. Still amazes me how much bang you can get for your buck these days with tackle. I remember when a decent 12.5m carbon pole was priced around the £2000 mark.

It'll be a good day out and I dare say we should factor in some time for some apres match ales too. Any good pubs in the vicinity? Failing that, I'll hopefully be able to crash near to The Broadie so on to there for drinks.

Method feeder at Loxley is deadly. Unfortunately they have removed all the beautiful lily pads so there is nothing to aim for anymore. It's such a shame, those lily pads had been there for years, doesn't seem like the same lake without them.

Thanks to the efforts of Yorkshire's strongest matchman, we have a date confirmed. If anybody else becomes keen, just holla.

Have some more Nudd action in preparation for the big day. Will promises us that he'll be in full Nudd attire on the day in tribute.

So our date is set and the lake is booked (Thanks Will) anyone any thoughts about how the Tour de Yorkshire may affect this illustrious event? Hearing that traffic etc is likely to be a nightmare etc...

Just a lil bump to see if any other interested parties might be about? Some spaces become available and should be a great day out.

Looks like the Tour route should cause no problems for the scouse raiders on the day....

As Tom said, the more the merrier (including ringers)...

It's a bit far for me. Can I join in via conference call? I'll fish my local venue. i.e the Pacific.

I could wet a line in the North Sea in tribute too. I'll probably catch as much as if I was there.

It's a great opportunity for Guy to try a new area of photography if he is about. Who wants to watch men in Lycra?
