I'm after something like the above. 6 inch front and back, not more than a year or two old, good spec brakes and chainset. Size large (6ft1). I've got a grand and a little bit to go with. For XC but also that can cope with a fair bit of DH, but I don't need a full DH rig. First time buying 2nd hand, and its become a bit of a mare, ebay is a no, too many dodgy bikes and not had much luck with pink bike.
I'm giving it about two weeks if not then probably just going to go for it and get a new one. Sorry can't help with buying one but I'm after one of those for my next XC+ bike as well. Only seen great reviews. Some people get a bit snobby about Specialized but that's just nonsense.

Probably worth checking the Pinkbike.com classifieds, a lot of nice kit comes up on there.

Lot of bike for the money, bargain actually, it's a lovely lovely bike in fact. If it fits, obviously. It fits your original buying detail, has a decent bit of kit on it and has all the depreciation taken out already. I haven't personally ridden it but it was hot on my heels a few times (I washed and lubed it myself after all those rides) and it was / will  be in amazing condition, the age is a total misnomer on this bike.

This may sound like a mate's recommendation but I've known Dave only briefly and can attest to his qualities as a good person and careful bike owner in the interests of this post... I can also attest to fatdoc's expertise and attention to detail when it comes to advice on bike purchases.... as a good mate, who I trust implicitly to keep me on the straight when it comes to them.
