Verdon accomodation
September 03, 2012, 12:18:08 pm
Off to the Verdon again this weekend.  Since I'm ancient and decrepit I prefer the deep peace of a proper bed to the hurly burly of a tent and camping mat.  Self-catering would be ideal.  Any suggestions or experience with any of the below?

M. Edlinger has a gite but likes to cook for you.

Hippy shit

Dorm. in La Palud

Parrots

The CAF hut

I don't think you can realistically self-cater in the dorm, she likes to cook for you too. We looked at staying there when the campsites all closed but found it was fully booked each weekend (popular with weekend warrior French people).

I don't think you can self-cater at the Peroquet Vert either, plus the food there is far from cheap.

Thanks both.  Gites seemed to want me to book a whole week and most are for 4+ folk.

No one used the CAF hut? It's not in La Palud but otherwise seems to tick most of the boxes.
