Cool.  The slab didn't take too long to scrub up, amazing really as Bonjoy signposted this as unclimbed in the BMC guide. It's a great venue and a bit of traffic would help keep things clean.  Tim has a few video clips which he might post.  Assuming Bonjoy forwarded Tim's scribbled topo.  Did you check out any of the other new stuff?

Not really, it was all a bit of a leisurely day out. I'm quite keen to go back and get a bit more done, plus it's all crag traffic in the bank.

No, me, dave and scouse tried it a bit, but a combination of not much climbing this summer, inability to suss it out and lack of commitment conspired against us. I'd like to do it.

Here's a vid of some stuff. Shame the big slab looks small.

reading the book afterwards I realised its given two grades, one for the LH side and one for the RH. RH did look easier, as the grade suggests.

My guess is that it will be in good nick tomorrow.

Haven't got round to putting it on pb.info yet but did a nice new thing here last week:

The Fork 7a+ - Climb the Knife arete on its left side from sitting.

Reckon Bonjoy is right about tomorrow, seems to be a good breeze at the moment so as long as it doesn't rain tonight it should be nice and dry in the woods.  A few stitched together video clips below from Stanton, not quite as polished as the video by Cofe, but should give an idea of some of the other problems, if you manage to find them amongst the bracken.   Think I manage to make the slab look even smaller :-\

Hello!

Ive had a bit of a shuffle on the ukc SITW bit, but am a bit confused about where everything is. Mark, I reckon we need to find a pub with wifi and be all cosmopolitan and have a beer whilst sorting this mess out!

Sorry for the slowness, im all about trad at the moment, my bouldering has dropped off somewhat!

Cheers!!!

I'm more cake than beer these days.

Hope the topo will encourage a few more folk to explore and keep things in condition.  If anyone has any more knowledge please share.

Some feedback Tom.
Judging from the description Step On 7b is on the Tramps cave (62 on topo). If this is an error it is also duplicated on the topo. If anyone knows Mark Evans it would be worth asking. The thing marked as Step On on the topo (no 44) might be possible but is truly desperate.
Just Looking is in the wrong place (should be left of Everybody's Slave, which should be left of Corduroy Hush).
Clandestine's Child and the Noose should be further right.
Generally a fair few other problems need rearranging. Just put them in the order they appear on the topo.
The starring is a bit over minimalist at the mo. For my money - Just Looking ***, Everybody's Slave **, Short Arete *, Eyes to the Skies **, Bumlog Millionaire **, Lean To **, Appliance Friction **, Left Hand Slab **, Slab End *.

Agree that starring is minimalist.  I didn't add stars to any of the new problems though several are worthy.  Promethean flame climbs well and the knee bar wall stuff is short but sweet.  The big easy slab has great rock.  Hang on a minute also looked pretty smart in the film clip.  You could add a star to all these.

Step On  7b is in the correct place on the topo, maybe the description neeeds changing.  I think Mark was trying it with Tom at one point before he did it, it was around the same time they cleaned up short arete and mono slab.  I'll try and confirm this with him next week.

I'm not aware of anyone having done a problem out of the cave, though the lip has been brushed at some point in the past.

I think Sam Whitaker did a lip mantle at about 7b on the cave years ago.
Saw chalk under the lip last year and though I'd heard mention that Mark had done mantle and was trying to link from under roof. Not sure where I got that idea from.
I'd love to know how Mark did Step On! Deffo one of the hardest mantles in the peak.
