Lakes in the wet!
March 18, 2004, 03:02:50 pm
Was wondering if anyone (greg?) has got any suggestions for venues in the lakes (windermere area i suppose) when it is/has been shitting it down with rain???  :?:

I know about Kentmere but haven't a clue if it dries quickly or if there are better options!

Any (sensible) suggestions gratefully recieved.

Cheers

  Popular topic this, I asked this only last week!

The answer was honistor pass boulders, although it was
still dumping down with rain whilst I was there so I
retreated back to the wall.   :(

bit hit and miss with my experience of the bowderstone, the overhanging side can stay dryish, ive climbed there in damp conditions and its been ok, think in the stick it video malc un dave birkett are climbing it in rain, but i think it does tend to seep cos of the vegetation on top! hope this helps

was at the stone last week in the rain and it was fine (on the steep side). only that slot on bowderiser was wet.
the crack on the left of the steps gets rained on alot but dries quite quick.

The bowderstone is a cool place. Some dope problems, must make the effort to go back soon.

On the way back, swing past woodwell and o'ert road!
