Excellent. Although my daddy's little (disa)star would have probably snapped the door off or something.

I've been following this thread reading the posts.

I found that my climbing didn't suffer too much with just one child, the wife used to put him to bed and wasn't too much of a chore but once the 2nd arrived it's got a bit harder.

So true John. But then when they both get older it's easier again - except that you're that bit older of course!

I must master the quote function as well now that the kids are getting older.

I encourage my two-year-old nephew to climb whenever I see him. He repeats a mantra of "careful...careful..." as he tackles things. This must come from what his parents say when he tries stuff when I'm not there .

The mantelshelf seems to be a surprisingly natural technique, but the rockover not so much. Way too much use of the knees in the toddler climbing community, I find.

Did 20 miles with the wee man riding shotgun yesterday. All fine apart from him dozing off and headbutting my spine when he slumped forward. Not too heavy going if you stay on flats.

I've been tempted to reply 'you bastards, you don't know how lucky you are' to the folk here that live 30 minutes from great outdoor bouldering.  But I'm currently feeling full of paternal pride so will just post this instead:

(had been on the problem 4 months ago, so strictly speaking not a flash ascent)
