I too clearly didn't have TB, with no record of it prior to my BCG vaccination.  Didn't stop the fuckers fleecing us for the X-ray and what I found even more illogical is that you can spend a year or more in the country on other visa types without the need for such screening, yet still be just as likely to have/had TB!  Another piece of pointless bureaucracy!

The company have provided me with 2 preferred firms for shipping and they will be visiting next Friday. Abels and Crown - anyone got any experience with these?
All being well, I should be out by the end of next month!

Never heard of either of them. The Expat forums are the best places to seach for tales of shipping woe.

At least you'll be here in time for the cool weather!

From what I'm reading, there are horror stories about every carrier. Luck seems to be the deciding factor.

There's a guy in the Syndey office that has just relocated and he recommended taking the cash the getting 1st move international to ship everything as they come out substantially cheaper than everyone else.

Flights booked for the 18th. We'll be landing on the morning of the 20th. Recommendations for a good CBD based tax accountant greatly appreciated! Perferably one with LAFHA/migrant experience. Cheers.

The contdown has started. Last day at work in the UK today! Scary!

Last weekend was spent cleaning bikes, surfboards and scrubbing Doxey's pool residue off the bouldering mat.

We'll be staying on York Street in the CBD for a month, so nice and central for everything.

We've arrived and are installed in the Sydney CBD. Sorted out bank accounts, medicare, tax file numbers, centrelink etc on Wedneday and Thursday and spent today on Manly beach which was nice. We've got some viewings in Newtown tomorrow morning which I'm sure will be an experience!

If anyone's around during the easter weekend it'd be good to meet up for a beer or a boulder. We're reliant on public transport and our mat is in a container somewhere, but we can spot!
