Niggling shoulder problem...
June 07, 2010, 12:47:58 pm
Hi,

I have a problem with my right shoulder which manifests itself when bouldering - most notably when "topping out" or pulling up on my arms with a wide grip.

Basically, it makes clicking and crunching noises. There's no real pain to speak of but it does feel a bit uncomfortable.

Looked on the net for some basic stretches but nothing seems to work. Also, physio is out of the question this month due to limited funds  :(

Anyone have a similar problem and solved it?

Ta.

Sounds like instabilities, possibly due to weak rotor cuffs, as is often the case. Stretches are unlikely to help.

May though.

Usual disclaimer, I know fuck all etc.

Thanks for that. The web pages of the supplied link have been printed off and I have my home work for the evening!  ;D

I've got long-standing a shoulder instability issue due to over-development of back compared to chest. I'd suggest antagonistic work - press-ups or yoga.
