Snappy Duds
December 18, 2009, 10:55:50 am
I've stuck this in kulture, as it is a thread about fashion. Bonjoy alerted to me to a certain article in a certain magazine down at the works, so i took the liberty of liberating said magazine and have finally gotten round to scanning said article. Some of you may be familiar with the Snappy Duds fashion spread in OTE 41, not mentioning any jonjon's in particular. Five typical OTE reader-type dudes, garmented in a Jungle Book set!

I think we're all agreed that Chris Kent did an outstanding job with the hair wraps.

So here it is, an opportunity to kick off our very own snappy duds thread. Take inspiration and then post up your own fine fashion fotos.

OK Get the pouches out! Let the posing begin!

That OTE issue is genius. One of my prized possessions.

Why does it say "fashion" on the second page?

I remember this now but must have blanked it out for years.

Loving the coiled rope prop - really makes the scene, how else would you know they were climbers?

And just in case anyone new to the sport thinks "OMG" what was it like back then, it was just as shocking and hideous at the time, never mind now.

The girls don't look that bad.  ;D

I like the Jungle Book background, that's not at all random.

Why does it say "fashion" on the second page?

Didn't they used to put a little box in the corner of each page for a while?

With "news" "profile" etc in it?

I remember the issue well. Who looks the most embarassed?
Does anyone know who they are so they can be named and shamed individually.

I am particularly loving Mr 'Strike a pose' in the second picture, with the black vest on, he's really getting into the spirit of things.

Actually, is that him again in the bottom picture, purple shirt, doing a sort of stare off into the middle distance behind his shades?

Step forward Mr Jon Barton. Who's the really skinny chap - I know I used to know him but have gone blank on the name. One of the girls is Anne Arran, don't know the other or the Germanic looking type.

At a guess I'd say they were Anne Arran, Dave Lyons, Jon Barton, Joanne Sweetmore and "the editor's kid brother".

That's a very suspicious "guess" mr D Piddy.

Jon gave me a special Christmas present after I started this thread. A new kind of cheque called a 'p45' apparently. Anyone know how I cash it?

That's the best cheque you can get, it's worth 120 quid a fortnight if you take it to the right bank

A sly mention of the Foundry jamming crack comp may turn the P45 into a normal payslip.

Rock and hard place I know. It's your choice.

Brogues and an inside out v neck sweater is the look and you know it. (well you do if you were at the grand hotel Thursday last)
