Good on you for organising a group fishing therapy session lads! The psyche is contagious, so this weekend, I sucked it up and braved the winter chill.

Spent a few hours 'tiddler snatching' with light UK coarse gear off the beach and was rewarded with a new PB flathead. A stonking great 62cm lizard which is now filleted and in the fridge. No photos sadly as it was after dark when I arrived home.

Tides are perfect this week, so I'll be out shark fishing tonight and tomorrow if I can swing it with the missus.

Good luck BB! Tiddler snatching with coarse gear out of the sea sounds fun!

I've done loads of coarse fishing on the pole lately and seem to be quite prolific at large bags of bream from my local lake but won't bore you all with pictures apart from this one...

The Noodle with his first ever fish!

Nice pic, Fatneck

I got the smaller girl a £3.99 fishing kit (whip and rig) from Decathlon for her third birthday the other week. Yesterday we rummaged around the garden for some worms and headed out to do some perch hunting

Good stuff Largers! Nothing like sourcing your own bait and putting it to good use!

Regarding the boat trip on Discovery (I'm assuming this is the best boat? New Daiwa gear as I don't have my own etc), I can do 7th, 11th, 12th and 15th July. Any of these dates any good for yous?

They will try and accomodate other dates but these are just the trips they already have scheduled and have spaces for and they are all general bottom/wreck fishing trips which I'm assuming would be best for people?

15th July suits me best - being a Sunday when Mrs Starfish isn't working

11th is next most probable

Anywhere between 27th june to the 10th July best for me. Can give fairly short notice to get a day off if need be?

Had a miserable attempted smash and Dab on Sunday. Horizontal rain and windy. Pink peppercorn butter sauce will have to wait. Si, really psyched to smash the pole scene again. Scratching around for Gudgeon in the dying minutes of a Shropshire Union match to win by a dram is where it's at.

BB, please can we trade lives? Thanks!

Dave Beresford and his 2oz bs lines. 80s scene was where it was at! These bullish carp poles and tactics too heavy for me!

Sorry Mono, this one's mine and I'm far too attached to it. It's not all roses though...

Had one of 'those' sessions on Tuesday night where everything went wrong. Lost 4 sharks in the surf and used up all my fresh bait with nothing but a small fiddler ray to show for it. Completely out of 8/0 hooks now and will have to spend a couple of hours making up some new wire traces before I can get out again.

Tom, any word on whether you could do the 11th yet?

Alternatively, Sat 7th July is available...?

And bad luck BB, we all have those days!

Largers?

No idea of places and I think it's a 9 hour trip. Will give the guy a ring tomorrow...

So The Mills and I (AKA The Bream Team) hit the park last night for a short afternoon session. Plenty of bites from Skimmers, Roach and Perch and plenty of fish on the bank. So great that all the park lakes in Liverpool are free fishing, think it's the only good thing Derek Hatton ever did!!

Mills with a quality Roach...

Myself with possibly the best fish of the session....

Good session! I lost a massive carp as well...

Aye hop on board champ. Great sport at Newsham. I remember there being mention that you might have had an Anglers Mail (or such like) double spread back in the day John?
