Damn it!! We were so close; we stayed in Carrbridge and cycled through Boat of Garten the next day, we could easily have detoured. If only I'd known sooner.

there are a few hundred deer at raby castle (county durham) - tho, I've been able to get that close to them...

Reindeer calves are mostly born in May; could be a great chance OD on soft snuggly cuteness? Their noses are soooo soft.

however...if you see a Reindeer calf etc by itself (normally next to a tree etc) - please don't touch it...as you will taint it's scent and it's mother (who would have more than likely wondered off for some food) will abandone the poor thing...

Pretty lambs, saw some lovely wee ones at the weekend, but yes, while coo-ing at their cute wee faces I struggle not to visualise them as a tasty meat based dinner.
