Some people say I've heard of every village in the UK and sadly this may be true, I also seem to be able to remember random facts but not useful facts when it comes to exams.

Anyone else fancy a St Bees visit on Friday?

Weather allowing, of course (updates by GoltTM).

That'll make for a nice long thread that'll do wonders for Bubba's bandwidth...   :o

Andi, have you heard of Milborne Port?  Not meaning to be an arse, just interested.

no-one should underestimate the effect of effort on remembering what you are doing -

if i am trying really physically hard at my limit - all the thought processes go out the window (and field of vision narrows to small square of rock immediately in front of my eyes).

i've only rp'd one 7a, but when i first went on it each individual move on it was so hard to me there was no room to remember stuff (but i thought i was just rubbish at remembering)...when i came back to it fitter and stronger i was amazed how easy it was to remember what i was doing (i'm sure the "remembering stuff" skill gets trained alongside other climbing skills as well but i think the main effect was that it was more within my physical limits).

the other time i can't remember stuff is when i flash or onsight something hard (for me) and have no recollection of what i did, on those rare ocassions when stuff "flows".

Earlier in the year, I devised a graphical representation of a problem. It's a sort of spatio-kinetic hyper pictogram and after some trial and error has helped me greatly. That and a focused training programme.

BenF really is as sad as he sounds but his charming, intelligent girlfriend is somewhat more grounded in the reality of life.

Is it a guy thing?  Or can other girls do it, just not me?  ???

Like Jasper, I have an unbelievable memory for moves, holds and sequences.  Even from routes I did over ten years ago and yet forget to purchase the most obvious items required for cooking dinner.

Ben, this is so familiar it scares me. I haven't spent much time redpointing ever, but one of the few routes I have ever spent time on, (and redpointed in 1995) I can remember the sequence of intimately, and could choreograph every move right now, down to the chalking points and foot moves.

I can remember a maximum of 2 phone numbers at a time, and 6 birthdays, but can recall song lyrics line for line (once on a sleepless alpine bivvy I mananged to recall an entire album line for line).

Also I forgot my chalkbag at the wall again :(

The weather is very good today. It hasn't rained for a few days and it is nice and cool. It'll be a top day at St.Bees today, enjoy.

I am on babysitting duties unfortunately so will not be coming out to play  :(

You have man flu and you're being forced to babysit?  Surely that's against Human Rights Policy?

Needs must I'm afraid, it sucks! I need to shake off the man flu today anyway as I'm spinning the wheels of steel at a birthday party tonight. Only problem so far is my ears keep popping and mixing is proving to be quite interesting.
