I've never quite got why people think that just because they have converted something to latin, it makes a good route name?

They sound like spells from Harry Potter.

Apart from said spells from Harry Potter, I have a store of unused new route names on my phone, because I find whenever you do need one, all your really cool and fantastic ideas escape you.

I think it's kind of like having a tattoo done in Chinese characters or something - "well, i've got my name tattooed on my arse....but ooh!....it's in an exotic script which makes it seem mysterious and interesting" :)

The desire to do this comes from the same part of the brain responsible for the brief obsession with the wingdings font, just after the release of Windows 3.1

Always risky, never know what it really says. ever seen the film hard men? this guy has chinese writing down his spine, he had it translated and it said "big man with a little dick." a couple of friends of mine ended up with "lesbians" tattooed on their bellies!

I like it when a route name tells you something about the climb, the setting, the first ascent etc. Deciding a route name before youve even done it seems presumptuous and potentially lacks character.
