poss bicep or shoulder injury
August 21, 2008, 07:21:17 pm
there is something wrong with my left arm.  I can usually do most of a one arm pull up with both arms but now my left arm can't take much weight at all, can' even lock off it just straightens. Not noticed whether I've done anything to it but did notice it felt weaker out climbing on the weekend.  Ive had bit of neck ache on that side for a bit and after the weekend had a sore muscle just above the elbow (bout 2 inches above the outside of the elbow) so rested that for 4 days and it felt fine then went to wall and noticed I can't lock off any more.  Funny thing is theres no apin or stiffness its just weak.  Any ideas?

Trapped nerve in the neck? Any pins and needles in your arm? If in doubt get thee to a physio...

Any sudden onset, unexplained weakness and you MUST get it looked at by a professional. If you know a decent physio, go there. If not, at least get yourself to your GP.

Cheers for that, booked in now, think trapped nerve prob problem as neck still feels stiff and there was no twinges in arm or shoulder now or before I noticed weakness

Neck pain and weak limb= go see someone.  You may be heading for an MRI.

Whats an MRI?  Went to see physio and he recons that my posture has lead to bad neck which in turn has lead to weakness in left shoulder.  Sort out posture thern neck and arm will follow.  Some strength come back and neck pain gone but left shoulder/arm still considerably weaker than right..

MRI == Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Its one of those big tubes with very strong magnets that you get slid into and have to stay very still when the magnet gets turned on...

I wonder how long these two stayed still for...
