Family stuff in Munich?

Must-do/see things in Munich this month for families? Especially for little girls?

We're going on Sunday and i thought the wisdom of UKB might provide some inspiration...
Thanks!

Boulderwelt? The new one out west is quieter.

Non climbing stuff the 'English garden'. I think that's what it's called. Huge Richmond park style country park in the city. That's where you'll see people going surfing too.  They surf the river where it narrows.

Especially for little girls?

Not my area of expertise. I asked my advisor, who at least has recent experience of being a little boy. I think we can safely reject most of his contributions:

  • BMW Museum
  • Deutsches Museum Aviation Branch
  • Deutsches Museum Motor Transport Branch
  • City Public Transport Museum

But then he came up with an absolute gem. If you have time/energy for a little trip out of town, Wildpark Poing is absolutely great for kids. If you go, make sure you check the times for the falconry display. The zoo in town is pretty good too, we used to go there a lot when my son was smaller.

Bavaria Filmstudios are pretty good for German speaking kids, but probably not much cop without language skills.

If the weather's good then you *might* get lucky and find the biergarten of the Hofbräukeller (Wiener Platz) is still open, in which case you can enjoy the traditional biergarten atmosphere and it has a good playground for the kids. It's also conveniently right across the road from Rumrich Stone Projects, a fantastic shop with probably the cheapest rock shoes in Europe e.g. Miuras normally around 110 €, often to be had reduced to 80 or so.

Cheers chaps. BMW museum me sounds great but probably not pink enough. Wildpark has cats so definitely on the list.

Wildpark has cats

Piglets too. They go crazy for acorns.
