I am in the grip of a powerfull new obsession.
I really want to buy a early 90's mountain bike frame or frameset to build up a 7 speed about town bike. I am thinking direction trek 990, kona explosif, orange clockwork etc. Steel, best available at the time, largeish frame - 20" odd.
Anyone got any old bikes they want to get rid of? I promise I would take care of it...

I chucked my 1988 Kona Cindercone in a tip 3 years ago. Little did I know I could have re-sprayed it and fitted it as a single or 7 speed and sold it for a tune.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help Sam (I just bought a DMR Trailstar frame off eBay to build a shops/trails/thrashing about 9 speed hardtail).

Have you tried retrobike.co.uk? And keep your eye on Singletrackworld. Bikes like you are after turn up regularly enough.
