Where about in North India? Kashmir? Varanasi? Or Sikkim/Darjeeling?

If your going to Dharamsala there is some decent bouldering on large river worn boulders in the river bed accessed from the walk up to the village of Bhagsu.  Worringly one of the boulder problems I did was on the news after I got back as they found a young English guy underneath it murdered.  I think it turned out he was having an affair with someones daughter/wife.

Most of the stuff I did was lower down from the waterfall nearer the small village.  Most of the river valleys in this region are full of large boulders.
