Just to keep Google on it's toes, Bird's Eye view now available on Maps.live.blatent.Google.ripoff.com

+NESW views from a less than vertical angle
+Much better resolution than Google Earth or Maps.
+Newer images than Google (in the areas I've looked at)

-Printing is disabled (so use 'Print Screen' or 'Grab' on a Mac)
-Only in urban areas
-Unfortuately nothing to do with Fish Fingers

The works,
http://maps.live.com/default.aspx?v=2&cp=swrs9mgw8n7g&style=o&lvl=2&tilt=-90&dir=0&alt=-1000&scene=7739466&encType=1

and in Google Maps for comparison

Not bad, resolution is pretty damn good, and the angled views are pretty cool.

Shame its only certain areas though.

I think Google Earth would be a better comparision (although its not the same as its an independent piece of software rather than viewable through a browser) as it has the title and rotation functions included.

If you hit the 3D view it will try and install 'Virtual Earth 3D' the MS copy of Google Earth (Windoze and IE7 only I expect). They even have a rip off of Google Sketchup for creating 3D buildings! (3DVIA) MS are such rip off merchants.

Google Earth & Maps use the same data, so although you can rotate and tilt Earth, quality should be the same.

For where I live the maps are a about 4 yrs behind the Google ones (my house still has it's old roof on), and the resolution isn't as good.
