Connemara, Ireland: Cur Hill?

Has anyone done any bouldering here? There's a roof which looks like it would yield lots of hard problems, probably about 10, and there's also about 20 problems on various walls around the place. pictures when i get back from ireland.

I haven't sorry, but as a regular visitor to the area I'd be interested to know more.

On the subject of Connemara have you been to Derryrush? I made a brief visit last July, thanks to the drizzle and mosquitoes it wasn't particularly pleasant but there seems a fair bit of potential in the area. Some new problems have been added recently -  http://www.theshortspan.com/

Never heard of it, nothing on google. Would be intertested in the details of here for guide/website and myself as I usually spend a week in Connemara each summer.

Good finding sammmmmm. As you pull up the road to it it's on the right up the valley, quite obvious along with all the walls. There's a boulder around the hill towards Maam that looks like it has potential too.

Speaking of The Chief Toby there is a series on TG4 (irish language TV) at the moment about Connemara and apparently in next episode on Monday they are going to visit 'Connemara's biggest boulder' - The Chief. I will record it and put it up on youtube if you like?

The Roof at Cur Hill. The block on the right is about man sized.

http://geoscene.ie/res/cur/gmaps/gmapff.htm

zoom in and click on map view.

The minor road which comes to a dead end has a layby after about a mile, park here and walk back the way you came for about 50m to a gate, look uphill and it should be obvious,as should the other things I've mentioned (the boulder is over the wall to the right).

Happy hunting, and good luck!
