MP3 edit freeware
February 18, 2008, 05:58:35 pm
Basically I'm after some software to chop my favourite tracks out of podcasts. Any ideas?

word to that. I thought podcasts where only talk and no music due to copyright issues anyway

Is there a .cue file associated with it? Using that and burning it to CD will chops the tracks up for you.

I've used Audacity and Wavedit to do just that and both work just fine and both are free.

Cheers guys, audacity looks like it will do the trick. Seems to import as a .wav though, and then has to be re-encoded as mp3 - is this right? Is there a way rouns it?

I don't remember having to do that JB. I'm pretty sure that it opens mp3's and then saves/exports as mp3s. There might be a free add-on thats required though. I'm pretty certain that Wavedit opens mp3s though as I'm always creating new ring tones using that software.
