check it:

i'm gonna get me somma that phat pipe broadband action in tha house. Now chez Parry is already wired up with Telewest from the previous ownerz, so the logical choice seems to go wit TW broadband, innit. So question one is have any of you Gz had any broadband from TW and was it the bomb, or was it wack?

Secondly, while i'm at it they say we can have a phone line in cheap with the broadband, instead of the BT line. Sounds good on the surface, but a quick search on t'internet tells me they've got a bad rep for phone lines and bad customer service, and i've heard specifically shite in sheffield. So question 2, has anyone had any beef with telewest phones, can someone give me the 9-11?

increase da peace.

I had a Telewest phone line about 5 years ago and it was fine. Cable BB is meant to be great, especially if the rest of your street isn't on it, which can slow it down. I think they're offering 1 and 2 meg lines now for a bit more cost.

Might be worth checking out  this adsl deal too - 2 meg pipe at weekends / evenings for about £30 p/month. Not bad at all.

I don't think that deal is available in Sheffield. If you go for ADSL Plus Net are pretty good value for money.

Oh aye - that'll teach me to read the whole page.

I've signed up with Nildram and will (fingers crossed) be on BB in a couple of weeks.

David dear boy.
I am a subscriber to the telephonic services offered by Telewest. On the whole I find their service more than adequate for my social needs. I also maintain an account with them to supply one of those new fangled interweb connections for the electric typwriter. I am curently utilising their 'dial-up' service and were I not moving house shortly I would persue a line of enquiry regarding the augmentation of this service to encompass a 'broadband' supply. Whilst their services has in general being of a above average standard I must express my disatisfaction with their sales brochures which one receives through the royal mail. On the whole these publications are gaudy, simplistic and have a distinct lack of class about them. They are also rather too numerous. Additionally I would add that my service is procurred from the Preston brach of telewest and may bear no ressemblance to the quality of service opperated by the Sheffield branch.
I hope you find the above informative and I wish you well whichever course you choose to take.
I remain as ever bling-bling
Nik

No problems to report from the Woodseat massive viz. TW phone line, I can beep my homies 24-7 and it ain't no ting, aiight?

Mind you, the television service is always busted, which is just as well cos it's well wack- unless you want 24 hour police car chases or Nancy Lam.

The customer sevrice is OK too, provided you are comfortable talking to a right bunch of scallys and/or soapdodgers...

And the sales geezer turned up the other day at the door- asked us what we were doing, talked for 20 minutes about caving and said 'are you signing up for broadband immediately then?'

I was forced to shove the barrel of my Glock down his throat, just to give him an idea of who he was dealing with...

THROW YOUR HANDS TO THE SKY!
