Gogarth Trad festival
July 14, 2007, 09:29:24 am
It'll be too hot (or more likely wet) for bouldering, get yourselves down!

NB: poster a JR original. He's no GE Lodge, I see why he went the 'abstract' route.

 :o

Sounds great, looking forward to that, should be terrifying.

And do bring your cameras and nice bright t-shirts; this could be your chance to get your ugly mug featured in the forthcoming definitive Gogarth guide.

Something to show the grandchildren in years to come.

(NB. The Snowdon Inn is the other name for the Fricsan - just in case anybody who came to the N Wales Bouldering meet is confused about the pub.)

I'm keen.  One question though.  Why camp near Llanberis when there is camping on Anglesey?

But such a good idea. Well done JR/JB/whoever is responsible.

Agree with Phil, its a bit like having a Roaches festival in sheffield. I guess all the organisers live in llanberries and want to be able to stagger home.

It's only a 30 minute drive. ::)

The Fricsan provided a top base for the bouldering meet - ask anybody who went.

Agree with the idea of the friscan as a base.

As for the logistics of the meet,  I'll bring coffee making facilities less a stove, water and cups.  I will try and remember to bring whisky and anti hang over drugs too (all legal by the way)

Still happening; be there or miss out on 'the social event of the season', and some quality ledge shuffling. :great:

Anyone got the tide times?

Looks like Low water is about 6 am and 5 pm?

Tides are not ideal, but they don't matter on Red Wall, or Yellow Wall, or Upper Tier - plenty to go at.

Check this for more info on the weekend and news of the forthcoming Gogarth writing competition:

It's only a 30 minute drive.

Thats not really logistical for a bunch of pissed up climbers though ey?

Its a great idea - just I'm not going as 30 minutes in a taxi will be astronomic!

Well to be honest, I think the driving will be done sober, and will be followed by drinking after the half hour drive.  Unless instead of climbing at Gogarth, you planned to sit at the top and sink several cans of Special Brew.

saw the couple of pdfs adam sent out (or was it PT), look briliant, really good to see new venues at Gogarth, exciting stuff.
