Glasto!!
June 25, 2003, 02:37:41 pm
I'll be off for my yearly stay with the hippies later this afternoon!

Keep an eye out on the telly for the bleached blonde midget trying to score some weed, but geting beaten up by scousers instead.

Of course I won't be eating for the next four days, so expect to see me all over the climbing press as I'll be able to crank harder than ever before with my new skeleton like body, if I don't get trench foot again!

And *why* is that  I wonder

Disgraceful! I hope you realise there's a bouldering wall at Glasto, so I expect you to kick ass down there....

Got your mail Tim, I'll get the Bathford stuff sorted later.

Not tempted to sell your ticket at a greatly inflated price on ebay... Werent some tickets going for about 900/1000?

Yeah they were, apparently Michael Eavis (Glasto's chief hippy) said that any tickets they saw for sale on eBay wouldn't be sent out, i think he was in cahoots with eBay to get the addresses of the people selling the tickets. So next year scam fans, order your tickets and have them sent to a different address than you have registered with eBay.

Is there really a bouldering wall at Glasto? is there a campus board? I might have gone if i'd known that. I bet you have to pay.

Well I survived.

An absolutely legendary event this year, the music wasn't the best, but the rest of the festival more than made up for it.

There was a climbing and bouldering wall, but it was kind of for kids, so there weren't really any desperately hard problems (or routes).  I suppose I could have set some, but I was quite frankly stoned out of my tree most of the time, and I might have got a flapper or something.

No mud to be seen.  There were a few light showers, but it's been dry for so long the ground just soaked it up.  Saturday was a scorcher, and I've got the best tan I've had for years.  The toilets were spotless, with an army of people (mostly spanish I think) cleaning them around the clock.

The festival lacked the rogish element of past years, with the superfence keeping out those with out tickets (according to the police most of these were "people from liverpool"), which showed particularly when the Sugababes performed and only one bottle and a sausage was thrown at them!  However, the new feeling of 'I'm not going to get knifed as soon as I show my wallet' was most appreciated.

Definitely the best I've been to.

I thought moby doing creep was shite-and a poor way to end a festival with a cover of radiohead. They'd just heard the real thing, why would anyone want to hear moby massacre it?

Did Radiohead play Creep then? When i saw Moby being interviewed on BBC3 he said that RH had been asking other bands to cover it earlier so they wouldn't have to play it. So the Irish geezer said 'Why don't you do it?' and it looks like he did...

Incidentally I thought the diversity of BBC3's coverage on the telly was rubbish

When i said they'd just heard the real thing I meant they'd just heard radiohead not necessarily creep.
Why would anyone want to hear Moby cover a Radiohead song when radiohead are on the same line up. And why was Moby the last act anyway?

I sorta liked it....not as good as the original but then very few things are (Muse's feelin good cover is excellent tho)

Although much of his stuff dont appeal to me Moby is immensely talented & does do sum decent stuff..... :)

Radiohead kick ass...the bends is amazin!!!!!! :D
