Trashing grit....
April 30, 2007, 11:26:37 am
:furious: I came across this photo on flickr of some enterprising artist branching out onto what appears to be grit with his spraycans.  Anyone recognise where this might be (it was seen in the Sheffield (Pool).

Definately not on, the boy deserves a good  :spank:

Sweet it won't be long before we'll be having gangs of new york style battles at the plantation for rights to use of the rocks.

Interesting... I'd say he's done a pretty good job of it, I like the way he's followed the natural rock features around.

Looks like Bell Hagg-ish style of grit, at first I thought Fox Hagg but it ain't.

The photo was uploaded nearly 3 weeks ago, I would've thought that someone on here would've seen it for real by now.

could be wharncliffe? you'd think there'd be enough urban detritus to deface in sheffield without fucking up the crags.

Looks like Wharncliffe to me. In fact i'd wager that it's a boulder below the right hand end of the Long John's Stride area

Graaaar! How do I post a comment on Flickr?! Im signed into my account and everything.
I reckon this kid needs a serious talking to but seeing as he obviously knows nothing about climbing Im prepared to give him friendly advice not to do this in future with some reasons why.

More comments have been added to the first photo, some of them from the 'photographer':

I mentioned this subject on UKC as well and created a bit of a monster:

Indeed, all I said was he deserves a slap, which was only said as a figure of speech. The UKC crowd do get a little over excited.

Just had another look at these pics and am starting to believe the photoshop theory.
In this pic:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/sazzelli/454070475/in/set-72157600000887725/
The whole painted side of the boulder is in shade yet the paint is still very bright,..... unnaturally bright I would say.
Also in both pics it looks as though the bit of rock that is under the very left hand tail feather forms a concave corner, yet the painted tail feather looks flat.
Is it possible to still have EXIF data if the pic has been photoshopped?

why is your link to an IT technician post in Donny?

EXIF data can be removed or edited from any image easily.

Doesn't look like photoshop to me

It's the spray cans on the floor, the guy with a hoodie and a can and the three shooters on the grassy knoll that give it away...
