Laptop batteries
January 02, 2007, 01:00:45 pm
I'm just about to get a new laptop and since the last one I had the battery was shite I was wondering if anyone had any pearls of wisdom as to how to lengthen the life of said battery so that it lasts longer before needing a recharge.

Cheers,
Si

General battery advice (I think):

Lithium-ion - recharge as frequently as possible, try not to allow full discharge ie 'shallow cycle'
Nickel-metal hydride - try to discharge completely before recharge ie 'deep cycle'
