Live 8

So, some folks that have received their Live 8 tickets are so pleased...they're selling them on ebay:

check it

so, bit of a moral quandry here - profiteering twunts, or just quick to notice a money-making opportunity when they see one?

For what it's worth, I think it's pretty reprehensible - it's one thing to make a few quid cos you've got tickets to something popular (god knows I've been looking for Ashes tickets...), but once you start involving charity in all this it just makes me feel uneasy.

Any thoughts?

Good to see loads of people messing it up for them with bogus bids, or maybe someone does want to pay 99 mill for them...

Anyway, that the line up is like the worst thing ever, if a rogue illness swept over that concert that meant they all lost their voices, i don't think it would be a great loss to the music world...

Now all withdrawn by EBay because of the sanctimonious preaching of the Lord Bob. Am I the only one who thinks he's an arse?

having thought about it a bit more, i didn't really see a problem with selling the tickets. If you don't want to or can't go, you might as well sell them on.

These events although they do generate awarness for good causes, the other huge benefactor from them is Bono, Bob & Ure.

Why don't they just donate some of there wealth, instead of congesting the roads with concert goers?

Somethig I always think about. For example if Phil Collins felt so strongly about the homelss, why didnt he donate all profits from that crap record to charity? U2 probably have more money in small change kicking about than will be raised by the concert.

Why doesn't that "genius" Geldof, in view of the fact that tickets are reaching £1000+, simply sell a few of the spare tickets he must have stashed away for family and friends, thereby adding much more cash to his charity coffers.

Or maybe he's just kicking himself he didn't just sell them in the first place, instead of giving them away

The sooner this godawful Geldofathon is over and that unwashed wankshaft fucks off again the better.

I really cannot be doing with his egotistical, supremely patronising behaviour.

A whole 4 songs! Not sure if they would be able to handle any more without supplimentary oxygen and break for heart pills. If they were going to reform they should have done it 10 years ago when they still had some life in them. And why did they bother? The concert is sold out anyway, not like they are going to boost ticket sales.
