Having just become a double dad (one two year old and a wee nipper (of the name Daisy Davies( two weeks old)), getting out is a bit difficult.  So far, over the last two weeks, I've managed a three hour hit to the Cave of Justice, and an afternoon at the Barrel with fellow D.D. Mr Pantonitino.  Both were scored by being sulky and being told to 'Fuck off out then, you moaning twat', which of coarse, I did.  What do favour, scoring brownies (points, that is), or being a pain in the arse?

As a fellow DD, but probably with a little more experince ( 5yr old and 7 yr old) I have used both methods. The Brownie point system is with out doubt the best, providing you put the effort in.

But there is another way, encourage her indoors to get out and do something she wants to do, in my case the missus goes riding (not the cheapest option), so I get to go climbing.

Also as the kids get older you get to go out with your mates/self and then get bonus trips when you take one or both of les enfants.

Why don't you just encourage her to come out with you, that way she can't complain you're ignoring your kids and you'll prob'ly still get to go out when you fancy.

I traded a mint day on Sunday (went for a walk with wife and kids instead, which was admittedly good fun) for what turned out to be a wash out on Monday - just after I'd finished warming up and decided with relish that the conditions were crystal, of course.

Now my wife thinks I'm great, but I went back to work today pissed off, knowing that CJD and Nodder were out enjoying themselves.

Although I'm a great believer in racking up brownie points whenever possible, I guess the lesson is that sometimes you've got to be a bastard if you want the luxury of dry rock and perfect conditions. Either that or get a part time job/don't have kids/stay single etc

It's got to be the 'air miles' approach.  The f--k off to the pub response is even becoming few and far between these days.

SO do nice things, i.e. pick up your socks, boxers etc (as odd as it may seem this is improtant to women) buy them flowers and cook decent dinners.

after 19 years of marriage with daughter of eleven.the easyist way to get out is to take daughter.the only problem is she don't like going out side these days.
eventually you get used to being told fuck off and being called a selfish bastard.if/when she finally chucks you out,you'll have lots of time to go out when ever you want.

as for gifts the only thing that gets me any brownie points is letting her buy a new house/increase the mortgage.she currently wants to buy a b/b in scotland,peterhead for fucksake.

For me with a 7 month old and still loads of stuff to get done round the house every day seem to start at 2pm- everything takes forever getting the little un ready.

Mind you I've become an idle sulky get lately so I reckon it'd score brownie points just to get out of the house for a bit... Or just to spend some decent time with the missus without being knackered or rushed to f**k...

i remember one of the missus reasons for starting a family was so she could come out climbing with me and bring the baby.i.e a family day out.
she's been out twice.
she's just rung me while i was typing this and i reminded her about it,she reckons i've made it up.she seemed amazed that c.j.d missus uses the same phrases as she does.
