Currently looking at spending maybe two weeks in either Vietnam or Thailand on my own, preferably somewhere with some DWS. From what I can gather this means Railay, Tonsai or Ha Long? Has anyone thats been got any suggestions or comments? Is it feasible to rock up on your own and get to DWS? Seems like some places online offer trips, but these vary from £15-30, which would be alright for a day or two but not for two weeks. Is there a cheaper option or is it feasible to expect to rock up and partner up with others to get a private boat and do it more cheaply?

it's 20 years ago, but I used to go out to the islands off Railay on the dive boats if they had space (for not much money)

many of the dives stick to the edges of the rocks sticking out of the sea, so that's where the boats are going

initially I was just using my time in between dives to climb stuff, but ended up going out specifically to just climb

might be worth asking dive companies while you're there

I did most stuff with Baby Shark Divers, but I believe Richard is no longer there

A few years ago I was in Tonsai, we hired a boat with a bunch of other climbers for the day. You just ask one of the locals on the beach. Not sure how feasible that would be every day for two weeks as most people are there for the sport with an odd day or two of DWS.
