If the weather is dry, Glen Nevis or Strathnairn near Inverness. Clashfarquar and Loch Katrine also great.

Or south of the Border, Carrock Fell by a long way.

not a fan of dumabrton - for me the glass and rubbish just really spoils the venue.

keen on exploring other areas so now have the Scottish bouldering guide - but is there a more up to date online topo for these places?

Not really. There are bits and pieces spread about, Scottish Climbs used to hold a lot of updates, but due to lack of traffic and constant spam attack it got locked with the content there already a few years back. So some of the guides are newer than the Scottish Bouldering Guide, some are older, worth a wade through though.

and some bits available here if you click around enough;

Ok, thanks for that. This Scottish bouldering appears elusive cf to other parts of uk. Hopefully worth exploring though!

Yeah, there's some good stuff, just don't expect the volume of problems at a single venue you get in England and / or Wales. Local facebook pages are a good place to garner info too.

Sheeez,  you should have seen dumby *before* it was cleaned up! It's really not that bad right now. I was down a week ago and had a great session.

Its been cleaned up?! :o crikey. I must admit my main concern was my dog cutting his paw, so next time will leave the mutt behind.

Thanks for the FB tip too SA Chris

I hadn't posted before cos I didn't want to put you off dumby.

There's plenty in the county with kyloe only being about 80 minutes drive away.

Almost every venue in the lakes is within 3 hours, with the exception of the long walk in places and possibly kentmere.

North Yorks is also in easy reach

If anyone's interested - went to loch katrine boulders today. Great set of problems in a beautiful location.

Lovely spot, some great problems. Take a while to dry, but if conditions are right they are great.

All rock dry as a bone (same cant be said for walk in - wellies next time!)
Great problems, a bit annoyed didn't leave enough skin to try Fight club on the way out! Gives us a reason to go back I guess!

We went in November time and in spite of no rain for 3-4 days, rocks stayed damp from dew / condensation in overcast conditions and no wind for pretty much the whole day. Walk in was fine though!

There was a nice breeze on the Sunday which helped. Fight club poss was a bit damp, being lower and more sheltered from the breeze, but we didn't climb on it. I imagine with all that bracken it's not the best place in summer!
