Chipping/Full on hold creation at Longridge
August 28, 2014, 09:04:52 pm
Longridge now has a nicely crafted well chiselled good full sized edge at the stopper cross through move on the traverse just after the wobble block, making the move redundant. Nice one wanker

you'd need a few more than two or three more holds on the shit traverse to open it to the masses. last orders at the bar.

Yeah it could be filled, going to be obvious though, about 6 inch wide, inch high and 1/2 inch deep. Sounds like a job for Serps..?

What a shame. I bet it was Sloper.
Seems pointless for the traverse. Does it affect an up problem?????

I'll see if I can get some glue, blended with some drill dust from a random bit of gritstone it might weather OK.
Tossers though, I'd like to know which sad inadequate did this. Hanging's too good for them, I'd lock them in a room with Caleb...

Not that I have ever tried to patch repair grit before but drill dust is just white powder and when mixed with glue becomes a smooth odd coloured paste.
Perhaps think about sand and cement. Getting hold of grit coloured sand is easy because that is what it is. You could collect your own grit sand from the crag by gold panning a few handfuls of sandy mud from beneath the crag using a bucket of water.

:agree: But you often don't want clean grit as the darkness of the soil component ofsets the paleness of the resin. On a bigger repair it's best to do most of it with plain resin then add a mixed layer over the top once the main stuff is set. Throwing handfuls of grit at the wet surface also helps with the finish.
