Sweden/Norway bouldering guides/topos ?
July 02, 2014, 08:06:29 am
Just started to plan a trip to Sweden and Norway, hopefully visiting some of the bouldering areas.
Struggling to find guides and topos, especially printable ones. lots of the links previously mentioned on here are out of date and no longer direct you to a page.

Any help and guidance would be brilliant, Nothing worse than walking around amazing bouldering areas not knowing where your going or what you've missed out on.

Linked from the UKB Wiki is vastervikclimbing.se who appear to have a new English guidebook for sale.

Kjugekull and surrounding area contains some amazing granite bouldering. Kjuge itsself has a really good concentration of problems < 30 minutes to stroll from one side to the other.

http://27crags.com/crags/kjugekull seem pretty up to date with lots of topos and videos

http://kjugebeta.blogspot.co.uk/ lots of beta clips to wet the appetite

Reminded me I really should go back there!

Don't know when you're thinking of going Ritchie but if you say you've gotta get in shape first it'll be at least a couple of mths, a friend who lives in Gothenburg says it's mozzie hell in summer

Hey dense

I'm going over the last three weeks of September and first week of October, Probably not primo conditions in September but hopefully on the edge of at least being able to get some holiday ticks in between doing the tourist site seeing. I'll make sure to throw in the mozzie spray, cheers.

I'm surprised about the lack of guide books available, half expected a selection to choose from, I'm a sucker for having my holiday bouldering guides on the book shelf. Looks like I'll be doing a lot of prior printing or spending lots on internet roaming.

There will be almost no mosquitos in September, and definitely none in October.

Mosquito-coils work.

Bouldering guide book for Gothenburg is available at Fjällsport, www.fjallsport.se in central Gothenburg. Ofcourse in Swedish but there is an English introduction and a translator page for "important" words like sloper, left, right, heelhook and other useful words to interpret the problem descriptions.

Fjällsport AB
Magasinsgatan 7
411 18 Göteborg
