Cadarese? (Vs Orco? Vs ...)
July 04, 2014, 02:31:26 pm
Got some interest in a trip to Cadarese next year.... Probably a late spring or early autumn trip.

Is there a more up to date topo than this June 2011 one? http://keepwildclimbs.ch/nc/wo-clean-climben/topos-beitraege/?cid=1702&did=2054&sechash=381273e3

Any recommended routes?

How does it compare to Orco for single pitch cracks? Style, quantity, quality etc? Orco has bigger stuff I guess, but if you just wanted single pitch cracks...?

And if anyone has been to other continental crack destinations like Bohlusan (spelling?) in Sweden, would any of those be better?

Cheers,

Andy

My flavour would be Orco for E1-E4 cracks and multi pitch adventure. Incredible scenery, mountains and trad.

Cadarese for E3-E8 cracks (some bolted) very much in single pitch flavour. Much more accessible and more of a dragging destination with lots of easy accom, cafes and restaurants. Generally way less committing. Good local hot spring sauna thingy as well.

I'll be going to both destinations next year for sure and I've been there a lot. It's basically that good!
