Punter sport crags in the buxton area
July 03, 2014, 09:33:02 am
looking to try and do some localish sports climbing today in the buxton area, after the unexpected rain last night its very humid this morning.
is anywhere likely not to be midge death hell? any recomendations for a fat punter who hasn't climbed for a month or been on a rope for over a year( read: needs to be some very easy stuff to warm up on about grade 5)?

The lower tier of Harpur Hill has some easy sports routes, but if there is no breeze I expect the midges will be out (sorry only been once and can't remember if its sheltered).

  • Its meant to be hard
and if there is a breeze it will fall down.

Forecast is strong SWly in Buxton, lower tier on the right hand side will be good. There's two decent 6a+s there that were my first routes after DVTs.
