[Scotland][Torridon][7B-7C?]
April 18, 2016, 02:26:20 pm
Did a couple of good problems I couldn't find listed anywhere whilst moving around the superb Torridon circuit last week.

The best was the prow on the back of the Seven Mile Boulder. Did this from sitting, seemed around 7C/+. Really good this one.

The other was a decent little filler line left of Red Groove on the Happy Pilots(?) block. Again done from sitting, using a LH press and a low RH slot. This seemed about 7B.

I'll give them names if they haven't already been done. Ta...

Cool thanks Richie. In which case the prow on the Seven Mile Boulder is 'Sassy Man' and the line left of Red Groove is 'Too Orangey for Crows'.

Sherlock, whilst the groove is a good feature, I thought the prow climbed much better. Climbed the moves starting up the prow into the ramp/groove but didn't do it in a oner- most people are just going to step back right to the top of the prow to finish so it almost seemed a bit pointless. Should have done the sitter to the opposite arete/prow (right of Dog's Dinner) but took an awkward fall off the mantle finish so sacked it off. That's really cool and not too hard (7B maybe), just has a sketchy top-out (be easier if you bailed right to finish but less satisfying).

Cheers.

reminds of that scene in Spaced which preludes the fake gunfight, brilliant

'It's just for me and my dog'

That makes a lot of sense Greg. I did the ramp from a crouch/stand and did end up moving right into the top of Sassy Man to top out, as you describe.
I also remember sitting down at the base of the left hand prow, but that's as far as I got.
Can't remember why I didn't get stuck in, probably skin, or darkness, or rain.
