Yet another XI+ in Frankenjura. But what's up with the third person singular?

Where did you get the thread title and third person singular from? All I can see is he's called the route "Becoming", quite like the name.

It's his blog, and he reports the ascent in third person. Nibile thinks it's a bit strange.

I don't have the latest Frankenjura guidebook edition - don't need it, am in little danger of running out of things to do in the 2009 edition that I have - but iirc there are something like 50 9a's in the area, of which Herr Bock is the FA of all but a handful.

Has anybody else (a) put up that many routes at that level, or (b) monopolised hard first ascents in a major climbing area to such an extent for such a long time? The other example that springs to mind is another German one, Toni Lamprecht at Kochel, but Kochel isn't by any stretch of the imagination a major destination like Franken.

Ahh I see. I read it as tho jwi thought the route was called "Becoming Marcus Bock". I can't think of any other major area where most of the hardest routes were put up by one man, he may be absolutely off his trolley but his legacy is superb

The list of the 100 hardest routes in Frankenjura is insane. I know of no one with the same legacy of hard routes in a single area.
