Off to visit some chums in Madrid next week and are keen to get out to El Escorial for a couple of days (As a bonus they're keen to get into bouldering too so we'll even get to see them )

Just wondered if anyone knew of a place to rent pads from?

Much against our wishes we're flying with Ryanair, and I don't want to even consider what they'd charge to take our own pad with us.

Bouldering mat, on the other hand, is "colchoneta".

As long as your pad is under 119x119x81 cm you can check it in as a hold luggage.

I've a snap calzone (now 2nd/3rd pad) and thats about as small as I'd want as a 'just about good enough as a single pad'.. (open size 1m by 1m by 0.09m)

BeJesus thats alot.. I last flew with SchemingCnutsAir Ryanair 4 or 5 years back.. with good reason its been that long...

But.. you could pack quite a few wine bottles in between the foam layers on the way back...
Might soften the blow..
