Heeley Hang Bouldering Session

After successfully launching the ‘Heeley Hang’ earlier this summer the Heeley Development Trust (HDT) will be staging another open access bouldering session from 12noon – 3pm this Saturday, September 28th.

“We’re hoping to introduce people to the boulders, widen community access to the facilities and enable people to have a go if they feel ready” explained Bev Nunn, Events and Involvement Organiser for the HDT.

“We had people passing by at the launch who didn’t know the boulders were there, and several local families expressed an interest in climbing as a communal activity”.

“We’ve also had a lot of interest from people who couldn’t access the right equipment, so we’ll be providing climbing mats and shoes of all sizes”.

Local climbing experts will be on hand to offer advice and refreshments will be available.  The ‘Heeley Hang’ is open to anyone regardless of age or climbing experience, although children under 16 should be accompanied by an adult.

You can contact Bev on 0114 250 0613 or at bev.n@heeleydevtrust.com

we were mobbed with kids today - great fun, although nerve wracking, trying to spot half a dozen toddlers as they flew off randomly! thanks to marcin for the help
ps. there's now a small sign by each boulder with a simple topo to get you started
