UK trad in July?
June 26, 2013, 08:18:52 am
This is a long shot, but ...

My partners for a planned trip to the Dauphine in July have dropped out: one injured, one with work commitments he can't get out of. I already have the time off booked with both work and family & it's hard to rearrange, so I'm looking for for some way to still get a climbing trip in the week of 20th to 27th July.

Also keen to get on some UK trad this year. Where? I'd be keen on South West / Pembroke / North Wales / NW Scotland / Cairngorms. Less keen on Peak / Yorkshire / Lakes.

How hard? I haven't done any UK trad for nearly 20 years so I'm guessing. Aspiration is around E1/2, which should be fairly realistic as I climbed trad VI in the Dolomites last summer. Willing to second harder / belay anything.

Alternatively, if anybody's looking for a partner in the Alps that week? Rock only, I don't have any pointy gear these days.

Unfortunately I'll have just got back from the Alps, but could possibly do a day in the Cairngorms, but can't commit to much more. Get to NW Scotland if you can find a partner, it's brilliant. Might be a bit / very midgy though.
